Steam Project: Making A Table :D

Howdy bloggers, today our task was to make a table out of 10 sheets of newspaper and 1 meter of tape.

The rules were simple, the table had to be over 15 cm and hold at least one book while getting 25 minutes to build our table.

I was grouped with Zoe, Camryn, Catherine, and Talia, we all got 5 minutes to do our planning/ discussion and 25 minutes to build our table, the plan was to make the top part of the table the sturdiest ( which we completed by adding many poles under the top of the table.) We then finished by adding the legs to the top and stuck them together.

We then checked the table by weighing my phone and scissors on it, it didn't fall so we guessed that it would hold at least one book. After our timer had finished we then got to the part where Mrs. Osborne stacked a pile of books on our table to see how much weight it could balance and we only got one book on because when she put the second book on it collapsed.

So overall the table WAS successful.

Matariki Art

howdy bloggers

for the last 3 weeks, we've been making Matariki prints to celebrate the upcoming event.

I started off my Matariki prints by making a draft picture for which I would then print onto my foam block, this took some time because we had to flip the stars so it would print the right way when I put it on my paper.
The next part of my Matariki art was putting it on foam, I used blunt pencils to outline my foam and then later used a pen to outline my lines (again). After the anxiety-filling process of outlining the foam, I finally got to dye my piece of foam and print it.
For my piece of foam, I chose to make the background the color blue and the mountains green instead of merging to colors together, though I made the mistake of coloring the river green instead of blue.
I only chose to do one print I seemed to have let my foams dye dry a bit so it didn't come off fulls when I washed it off, that also affected my only piece of art, which looked drained of life.

Overall I did enjoy the Matariki art though the expectations of my art didn't match.

Explaining Measurement

Howdy Bloggers
Yesterday for maths we had to explain measurement (area, perimeter, and volume) which we all did on a slide.
Explaining the measurement wasn't the hard part but making the slides look gorgeous did ( by slide I mean just part of the slide aka, volume) I was previously doing the slide with Camryn and Catherine, though Mr. Shaw said we had to do it on our own, which resulted to Camryn and Catherine copying the slide and leaving me behind.

And that's the end folks
